Alumni Spotlight: Alexander Shaw – From Red House School to Professional Golf

Red House School is delighted to shine a spotlight on former pupil Alexander Shaw, who attended the school from 1995 to 2006 and recently got in touch to share an update on his life since leaving Red House.

From Red House to a Career in Professional Golf

After leaving Red House School, Alex went on to study Professional Golf Studies at the University of Birmingham. He qualified as a PGA Professional before gaining GCMA accreditation, which supported his progression into senior management roles within the golf industry.

Alex now works as Club Manager at Seaton Carew Golf Club, while continuing to compete as an active golfer.

Fond Memories of Red House

Reflecting on his time at Red House, Alex looks back fondly on his school days and credits the dedication and care of the teaching staff with helping to build his confidence and lay strong foundations for later success. He gives special thanks to former chemistry teacher Mr Frank, whose encouragement of pupils with an interest in golf helped spark a passion that would ultimately shape his career.

Alex shares:

“Red House, from the vicarage through to Year 11, was an experience that shaped me as a person. I am forever grateful to my parents for the opportunity to attend and look back on my time at Red House with the fondest memories. Twenty years has flown by, and it only seems like yesterday I was walking through those gates. With a child of my own on the way, I look forward to once again visiting RHS and starting them on their own journey through such a special place.”

Alex’s story highlights the lasting impact of a Red House education and the strong connections that continue well beyond the school gates.
