Wrap Around Care

We offer both before and after school care for those children whose parents require an extended day.

These facilities are run by fully qualified members of staff and offer a safe and caring environment for children outside of normal school hours. A full itinerary of before and after school activities is available in both Junior School and the Senior School.

Junior School

Breakfast Club (7.30-8.30am)

Each morning the Barn is open from 7.30am for Breakfast Club, there is no need to pre book this session.

You and your child will be welcomed, you will be asked to sign your child in and if Session 6 (after school care) will be required that day.

Your child will be offered a healthy breakfast; a choice of toast, cereal, fresh fruit and orange/apple juice, milk or water. Breakfast service finishes at 8.15am.

In Breakfast Club your child will have a choice of activities, set out and supervised by qualified staff.

At 8.30am your child will be escorted to their classroom ready for the start of the school day. We shall pass on any messages from you to their teacher.

Session 4 (3.30-4pm) & Session 6 (4-6pm)

Session 4 and Session 6 are based in the Nursery Classrooms and outdoor areas.

Each morning on arriving in the classroom you or your child will need to inform the class teacher if they will be staying after school to either or both sessions. EYFS parents will need to complete the sign in sheet provided in the child’s classroom.

Both sessions are held in the Nursery classrooms and your child will be escorted by the class teacher and registered by the Wrap Around Care (WAC) staff. Your child will have the opportunity to participate in a wide choice of activities, supervised by qualified staff.

When collecting your child, please ring the bell located outside on the door to the reception area. This will alert staff of your presence, you will be asked to sign for your child.

Session 6 commences at 4pm. All children present at 4pm will be registered for this session.

A healthy snack is provided at 4.10pm the choice of sandwich fillings and fruit varies daily. A range of activities are on offer including an adult led creative activity.

The Barn and main playground are used for physical games. On club nights children attending Session 6 will be escorted to the Nursery by the club teacher and registered by the WAC staff and given a healthy snack.

If you need to contact either of these sessions please call the Junior School on 01642 535353.

Wrap Around Care staff finish at 6pm and therefore if a child is collected after 6pm you may incur a late collection charge.

Senior School

Breakfast Club (7.30-8.10am)

Breakfast Club opens at 7.30am. All pupils arriving at school before 8.10am will be supervised in Breakfast Club in the Senior School hall. Here the children can purchase breakfast, should they require it.

At 8.10am children are escorted outside, unless the weather is inclement, until the bell goes at 8.25am for registration. Pupils who arrive between 8.10am and 8.25am should go straight to the outdoor Astro area, where they will be supervised.

There is no charge for Breakfast Club.

Tea & Prep (4-6pm)

Each morning during registration, your child will need to inform their teacher if they will be staying for tea that day.

  • The first session (snack only) runs from 4 until 4.15pm. This is for children who are attending a co-curricular activity, who would like to have a snack and a drink before the club begins. Clubs run from 4.15-5.15pm
  • Tea 1 is from 4-5.15pm
  • Tea 2 is from 5.15-6pm

Tea is served at 4pm, usually in the dining hall and the menu varies daily. Pupils who are not taking part in co-curricular activities are expected to bring everything they need in order to do their homework, to work quietly without disturbing others and to have a reading book with them at all times. Once homework has been completed, younger pupils are allowed to play board games quietly and have access to drawing materials, word searches and crosswords. During most sessions, access to laptops is available should they be required for research or homework.

Pupils soon settle into the routine and make good use of the time available to them. At the end of the first session (5.15pm) pupils are escorted outside under the supervision of a member of staff.
