Red House is a selective school. In Years 7-11 children will undertake an age-appropriate entrance assessment in verbal, non-verbal, quantitative and spatial reasoning.

The assessment is designed to assess your child’s potential to engage with a curriculum targeted towards at least 9 or 10 GCSEs at grades 9-4 (previously grades A*-C) in Year 11. These assessments form part of your child’s taster day within the school.

Children wishing to join the Senior School will undertake a series of short assessments used to assess their academic potential and ability to engage with a curriculum targeted towards 9 or 10 GCSEs at grades 9-4 (A*-C).

Children who attend Red House Junior School will usually progress to the Senior School.

Entry for Year 7 in 2026/2027

Registrations are now being taken for children currently in Year 6 wishing to join Red House School in Year 7 in 2026.

Registrations are also being taken for children currently in Year 5 wishing to join Red House School in Year 7 in 2027.

Due to an unprecedented interest we are expecting to be oversubscribed for these year groups. Early registration is highly recommended.
