RESPONSE TO COVID-19
We are very proud of the way our community responded to the COVID-19 pandemic last term. Within a very short period of time, Red House established a virtual learning platform which was second to none. Numerous parents have congratulated us on maintaining high academic standards whilst also protecting the emotional well-being of the pupils in very challenging circumstances. Group tutorial, individual calls to pupils and fun activities, all ensured the pupils remained connected and felt part of our wonderful community.
Throughout lockdown, the school was open for the children of key workers. We didn’t merely provide fun activities: we kept their learning going. Many of our parents are front line workers and we were pleased to be able to support their tremendous work. The school also provided a bus service between the local hospitals for key staff and produced PPE equipment for local surgeries; we did all we could to help.
As soon as the government gave the go-ahead, Red House opened for all primary aged children. Investment in new technology and inventive staffing solutions – including the use of senior school teachers – meant we could invite all the children to join us – and how they loved it. Over 85% of the children returned which is testament to how much they love school and how much trust parents have in us.
