Music & The Performing Arts

Red House is proud to have a Music School which features a recording studio, rehearsal space and practice rooms.

Music

Music is taught through all stages of the curriculum and is a major part of the school’s co-curricular activities.

Pupils sing, play instruments, listen and learn to compose music in class. These activities allow children’s musical talents and creativity to grow in an environment that also develops their social skills and self-confidence.  Many pupils decide to deepen their musical experience by learning to play an instrument or taking singing lessons in school.

Visiting instrumental teachers provide tuition on orchestral and contemporary instruments. If you would like your child to have instrumental or singing lessons in School please contact:

Performing Arts

Everyone can find their niche in the performing arts at Red House, whether it be on stage, behind the scenes, or perfecting their technical lighting and sound abilities.

We encourage as many pupils as possible, of all ages and abilities, to experience performing in front of public audiences.

Events

There are endless opportunities for pupils to showcase both their talents in music and drama. We hold concerts in the Autumn and Summer terms and an annual musical production. Musicians also perform during the School Carol Services at Christmas. During the Spring Term, Red House hosts its annual ‘Red House Has Got Talent’ show, providing the stage for all budding musicians and performers.

"Music plays an important part in school life and is compulsory part of the curriculum until Year 9. As a result, many pupils sing and learn a range of musical instruments including piano, electric guitar, flute, drums, clarinet and trumpet, and are successful in national music examinations."
