Wellbeing & Inclusion
At Red House School, the wellbeing of every child is at the heart of everything we do. We are committed to creating a safe, supportive and nurturing environment where pupils feel happy, confident and able to thrive both academically and personally.
We believe children flourish in a close-knit community where they are known as individuals, supported by strong pastoral care, and encouraged to develop respect, kindness and resilience.
Wellbeing is not a standalone initiative at Red House School — it is embedded in daily school life across all age groups, from Nursery through to Senior School. We work closely with families to ensure every child feels secure, valued and understood throughout their journey with us.
Our approach to wellbeing
Across the school, we support pupils through:
- Strong pastoral care and positive relationships with staff
- A focus on emotional wellbeing and resilience
- Age-appropriate PSHE education
- A culture of kindness, respect and inclusion
- A safe and nurturing learning environment
We are proud to have been awarded the Silver School Mental Health Award from the Carnegie Centre of Excellence for Mental Health in Schools. Building on our previous Bronze award, this recognition reflects our continued commitment to supporting the wellbeing and mental health of every pupil.

Inclusion at Red House
We are proud to be an inclusive school community where diversity is respected and celebrated. We actively promote an environment where every child feels they belong and is encouraged to be themselves.
A key part of this commitment is our achievement of the Rainbow Flag Award, which recognises our ongoing work in promoting equality, respect and understanding across the school.
Rainbow Flag Award
We are delighted to have once again been awarded the Rainbow Flag Award, reflecting our commitment to inclusion, equality and respect within our school community.
This award supports our work in:
- Promoting respectful and inclusive language and behaviour
- Embedding diversity across the curriculum
- Supporting staff training and confidence in inclusion
- Ensuring pupils learn about diversity in a positive, age-appropriate way
It reflects our wider belief that every child should feel safe, valued and included at Red House School.
