SeniorFrom Classroom to Caen!
During the Easter holidays, Senior School pupils and staff embarked on a five-day educational adventure to Normandy, France, immersing themselves in the French language, culture, and history.

The trip provided pupils with a variety of engaging experiences, combining cultural exploration with language practice. Highlights included visits to a goat farm, where pupils sampled traditional goat’s cheese, and a cider farm, where they observed the production process and tried fresh apple juice.
Pupils also visited a caramel factory to learn about traditional confectionery making, and explored significant historical sites such as the D-Day Landing Museum and the Bayeux Tapestry, an extraordinary 70-metre-long work of art. These visits offered a unique opportunity to deepen their understanding of both local history and French culture.
A visit to Mont Saint Michel provided a scenic highlight of the trip. Despite the long walk to the iconic landmark, pupils appreciated the stunning views and had time to explore the surrounding area. Throughout the trip, pupils also enjoyed opportunities to practice their French language skills in real-world settings, reinforcing classroom learning.
Pupils returned with lasting memories, a deeper appreciation for French culture, and enhanced language skills.
