JuniorRed House Rebels Win First Lego League Regional Tournament
We’re thrilled to announce that our Year 5 Lego Robotics Club, the Red House Rebels, have won the First Lego League Regional Tournament held in Sunderland — an outstanding achievement for our young innovators!

This year’s theme, “Submerged,” challenged teams to explore the world of underwater exploration and engineering. Despite competing against older, more experienced teams, the Red House Rebels stood out for their creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
Innovation, Teamwork and Excellence
The team’s Innovation Project was a standout feature, combining detailed research with practical application. Their visit to a local engineering company helped inform their ideas, and they presented well-defined goals, supported by diagrams and working prototypes. The robot they designed reflected logical thinking and a strategic mission plan.
In both the presentation room and on the competition floor, our pupils consistently demonstrated the core values of the First Lego League: teamwork, innovation, inclusion, and impact. Their clear communication and respectful responses to judges’ questions reflected the depth of their preparation and maturity.
A Proud Moment for Our School
A special thank you goes to David in Year 10, whose support and mentorship showcased the collaborative spirit that runs through Red House School.
We are incredibly proud of the Red House Rebels and the staff who supported them. The team now heads to the First Lego League National Championships in Harrogate this May — and we can’t wait to cheer them on!
