Whole SchoolRed House School Celebrates Mental Health Awareness Week with Acts of Kindness and Community Spirit
Red House School embraced the theme of “Community” during Mental Health Awareness Week, as set by the Mental Health Foundation. This national initiative highlighted the vital role that supportive communities play in fostering mental health and wellbeing.

Celebrating Kindness and Connection
Throughout the week, pupils from all year groups participated in a variety of activities designed to promote wellbeing, kindness, and connection. These included baking treats and giving them to friends or family, gifting treats to our neighbours, playing games, dancing, and wearing green to show support for mental health awareness. Each activity was an opportunity to strengthen the sense of community within the school.
The Power of Community
The theme of “Community” underscored the importance of being part of a safe, positive community for mental health and wellbeing. As highlighted by the Mental Health Foundation, strong community connections provide a sense of belonging, safety, and purpose .
A Special Thank You to Charlie
A highlight for many was the calming presence of Charlie, our beloved wellbeing dog, whose visits provided moments of joy to pupils and staff alike. His contribution reminded us how small, thoughtful interactions can make a big difference to mental health.
Living Our Values
This year’s theme focused on the importance of community and our pupils, staff, and families showed once again what a strong and caring community we are.
Red House School remains committed to nurturing not only academic achievement but also the emotional and social wellbeing of our pupils. Mental Health Awareness Week is just one of many ways we support the development of healthy, happy learners.
