Year 2 Celebrates Kings and Queens Day with a Royal Twist at Red House School

Red House School’s Year 2 pupils enjoyed a truly majestic experience as they celebrated their much-anticipated Kings and Queens Day - a royal-themed event that brought their history learning to life in a fun, imaginative, and memorable way.

Led by Mrs Cooper, the children dressed as royalty, donning crowns, cloaks, and regal attire as they explored the traditions of the British monarchy. The day was a creative culmination of their recent history topic, offering pupils the chance to step into the shoes of kings and queens while reflecting on what they’ve learned about royal life through the ages.

A highlight of the day was the opportunity for pupils to design and build their own castles, showcasing outstanding teamwork and creativity. These hands-on activities helped reinforce their understanding of historical architecture and the roles castles played throughout history.

To add extra excitement, pupils took part in ribbon twirling and jousting games, giving the day a festive and active twist. The celebration concluded with a royal banquet, where children shared their favourite foods in a grand setting fit for monarchs.

Thank you to Mrs Cooper and pupils in Year 2 who showed incredible creativity throughout the day.
