SeniorYear 9 Pupils Enjoy Adventure-Filled Residential Trip to Peat Rigg
Year 9 pupils at Red House School recently enjoyed an exciting outward bound residential at Peat Rigg, packed with adventure, teamwork, and personal challenges. The trip provided pupils with the opportunity to step outside their comfort zones, build confidence, and create lasting memories through a wide range of outdoor activities.
A Fantastic Start to the Peat Rigg Residential
Our Year 9 pupils arrived at Peat Rigg full of excitement and ready for adventure. After settling into their rooms and enjoying their evening meal, they quickly embraced the outdoor experience.
Pupils even had the chance to feed the pigs before taking part in their first activity – orienteering. This fun and engaging challenge encouraged teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills, setting the tone for an unforgettable trip.
Outdoor Adventure and Team-Building Activities
After an early start the next morning, pupils were ready for an action-packed day of activities at Peat Rigg.
Throughout the residential, they challenged themselves with a variety of exciting outdoor pursuits, including:
- High ropes – testing courage, resilience, and determination
- Archery – developing focus, precision, and patience
- Scrambling – encouraging perseverance and problem-solving
- Team-building exercises – strengthening communication and collaboration
Each activity encouraged pupils to support one another, work together, and celebrate each other’s achievements.

The Peat Rigg residential has been a fantastic experience for our Year 9 pupils, filled with adventure, teamwork, and achievement.
