Jogathon raises over £2,880 for the North East Ambulance Service

Pupils at Red House School took part in a sponsored ‘Jogathon’ to raise vital money for the North East Ambulance Service.

The event saw children from Nursery to Year 5, dressed in green, running, jogging and walking as many laps as they could around the  Junior School field.

The children had spent several weeks eagerly awaiting the event and collecting sponsors. The total amount raised was an incredible £2880.90.

Sport is a very important aspect of life at Red House, as it is highly beneficial to the physical and emotional well-being of all the pupils. We believe the Jogathon provides a very positive experience while promoting exercise as being fun. For some pupils, it was the first time they had taken part in such a big event, so it also helps to build their confidence at a very early age, which is another thing we encourage at Red House.

The Jogathon was well supported by parents and family members, who came along to cheer the children on from the side lines. Thank you to Alex from the North East Ambulance service who started the race and encouraged the children.
