Junior School Wellbeing Prefects Share 5 Top Tips for Wellbeing

At Red House School, pupil wellbeing is one of our top priorities. Our Junior School Wellbeing Prefects have shared five simple but powerful ways pupils can look after their mental and physical wellbeing, helping everyone feel confident, connected, and ready to thrive at school.

1. Stay Active for a Healthy Body and Mind

Physical activity isn’t just good for the body – it boosts mood, energy, and focus. Whether it’s running, playing sports, or simply moving around, staying active helps pupils feel strong, energised, and ready to take on the day.

2. Be Creative to Relax and Express Yourself

Creativity is a powerful tool for managing stress. Drawing, painting, writing, or other creative activities give pupils a chance to relax, express themselves, and explore new ideas, supporting both emotional and mental wellbeing.

3. Talk About Your Feelings

Sharing thoughts and emotions with friends, family, or teachers helps pupils feel supported and understood. Talking about feelings reduces stress, builds resilience, and strengthens connections with others.

4. Get Enough Rest to Recharge

Sleep and rest are essential for wellbeing. When pupils get enough rest, their bodies and minds can recharge, helping them stay focused, cope with challenges, and maintain a positive mood throughout the day.

5. Spend Time with Others

Connecting with friends, family, and peers creates a sense of belonging and support. Spending time with others helps pupils feel valued, understood, and less alone, fostering confidence and emotional wellbeing.

Conclusion: Building Confidence and Connection

By following these five wellbeing tips from our Junior School Wellbeing Prefects, students at Red House School can feel happier, more connected, and ready to do their best academically and personally. Looking after our wellbeing is the first step to thriving both in and out of the classroom.
