Year 3 French Café Brings Language Learning to Life at Red House School

Red House School’s Year 3 pupils recently transported parents and visitors to the heart of France with their annual French Café experience - a delightful celebration of language learning that was both educational and entertaining.

Held each year as part of the school’s modern foreign languages curriculum, the event gives pupils the opportunity to practise their French skills in real-life scenarios, from taking food and drink orders to engaging in French-themed activities. The café was buzzing with excitement as pupils confidently interacted with their families, showcasing their vocabulary and conversational skills.

The immersive experience also featured lively games of bingo and enthusiastic renditions of Tête, Épaules, Genoux et Pieds—a classic French song that got everyone dancing. The event is a highlight of the academic calendar and a vibrant demonstration of how languages can be taught in fun, engaging, and meaningful ways.

Bravo to all our Year 3 pupils and un grand merci to Mrs Ashton for making this year’s French Café such a memorable and enriching experience.
