JuniorYear 3 French Café Brings Language Learning to Life
Year 3 pupils hosted a wonderful French Café afternoon, giving families the opportunity to experience language learning in a fun and interactive way. From taking orders in French to serving delicious cakes, the event showcased the pupils’ growing confidence and enthusiasm for the French language.

A Busy and Successful French Café
The French Café was buzzing with activity as Year 3 pupils welcomed their families and took on the role of café staff. The children did a fantastic job taking orders and serving a selection of delicious cakes and refreshments, all while putting their French speaking skills into practice.
The event provided a valuable opportunity for pupils to use the language they have been learning in the classroom in a real-life setting, helping to build both confidence and communication skills.
French Bingo and Fun Activities
After enjoying the café experience, families joined in with a lively and competitive game of French bingo. The activity tested pupils’ listening and language skills while adding an extra element of excitement to the afternoon.
The fun continued with plenty of dancing to the popular French song Tête, Épaules, Genoux et Pieds, which had everyone joining in and practicing their French vocabulary in an engaging and memorable way.
Celebrating Language Learning
The afternoon was filled with smiles, excellent prizes and, most importantly, some truly très bien French from our Year 3 pupils. It was wonderful to see the children applying their learning with such enthusiasm and confidence while sharing their achievements with their families.
A huge thank you goes to Mrs Ashton for her support in helping to organise and deliver such a successful event. Her efforts helped create a fantastic experience that our pupils and families thoroughly enjoyed.
A Memorable Afternoon for Year 3
The Year 3 French Café was, once again, a great celebration of language learning at Red House School. We are incredibly proud of all the pupils for their hard work, excellent manners and willingness to embrace the French language. It was a fun-filled afternoon that demonstrated just how enjoyable learning a new language can be.
